Simple and mindful walking tips to make walking part of your daily routine.

Lately, I’ve been trying to walk with a bit more intention—
not just moving from one place to another,
but making walking a meaningful part of my routine.
Even just 10 minutes can make a difference,
especially on days when I didn’t sleep well or feel bloated.
It helps clear my heavy, foggy head and even aids digestion.
Changing up where I walk keeps things fresh.
Sometimes I stroll through a quiet park trail; other times,
I wander my neighborhood, taking in new sights and sounds.
I like to pause for a few minutes now
and then just to watch people and soak it all in.
Walking with friends or family
makes it more fun and helps me stay motivated.
Before I start, I set a simple intention, like:
“Clear my mind.”
“Help with digestion.”
“Shake off that heavy, fuzzy feeling.”
"Find some inspiration."
"Get my body moving."
"Recover from a restless night."
Setting an intention helps me stay connected
to why I’m walking, turning it into something more than just exercise.
Walking is something we do every day,
often without thinking.
But walking with purpose
has helped me feel better physically and mentally—
and it adds a little calm to my day.
I walk because my body asks me to.
And most days, that’s reason enough. My Basket Days.
